Susanna Mauer (she/her) - Rosalind
Susanna is an actress and singer currently based in Frankfurt. Her love for theatre developed at an early age and she began voice, dance and acting training when she was 6 years old. After spending her early childhood working and training in the UK, she moved to Germany with her family and received an acting scholarship from the Peter Ustinov Foundation. As a teenager she appeared in several productions at the English Theatre and the Gallus Theater in Frankfurt. In 2020 Susanna graduated from the University of Cambridge, where she was an active member of the student drama scene and participated in 35 productions alongside her degree, including shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival such as Rust (Best Musical of the Fringe, The Derek Awards) in 2019. This is her fifth project with Shakespeare Frankfurt. Her previous credits with the company are: ‚Dorine', Tartuffe (2020), ‚Regan', King Lear (Botanical Gardens Frankfurt, 2021), ‚Performer', Travellers, Fools and Thieves (Go West Theatre Festival Frankfurt, 2021), 'Charmian, Pompey, Agrippa, Octavia, Scarus and Thidias', Antony and Cleopatra (International Theatre Frankfurt, 2021-22). Susanna is honoured and delighted to be playing Rosalind in this year’s production of As You Like It.

Patrick Joyce (he/him) - Corin
Patrick moved to Frankfurt nearly 15 years ago to work in the video games industry. A stint as the singer in a punk band left him well-prepared to shout at people from a stage, something which comes in handy while acting. After Trojan Women and King Lear, As You Like It will be his third project with Shakespeare Frankfurt, and the first one where he won't be required to carry a weapon.

Nathan Dodd (he/him) - Silvius & Understudy for the role of Charles
Nathan is a student at the Metropolitan School of Frankfurt. Fascinated with theatre and drama from a young age, he has already performed in a variety of productions. School productions include the roles of Captain Hook in Peter Pan, the phoney physician in the same play and the mayor of Whoville in Horton Hears a Who. In June 2019, Nathan debuted with Shakespeare Frankfurt in their production of Macbeth which was followed by performances in Trojan Women in February 2020 and King Lear in July 2021. Additionally, in April 2021, Nathan acted the main role in a film by Jackson Beyda, Elements of Reading.

Michael Kinzer (he/him) - Touchstone
Michael has been acting since he was a child. With the touring Zettels Theater company he performed in a number of German Shakespeare productions, including Richard III where he played the title role. Joining the Shakespeare Frankfurt ensemble in 2016, he added several famous Shakespeare characters to his list: Ariel in The Tempest, Sebastian in Twelfth Night, Bottom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Edmund in King Lear, and Macbeth. His other acting credits include Henrik Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People, Yasmina Reza’s Art, Martin McDonagh’s The Pillowman and Martin Heckmanns’ one-person play Finnisch, for which he received the Best Actor award at the Freispiel Festival in Freiburg. In 2020 he co-developed, edited and acted in Shakespeare Frankfurt’s first feature film Spiritus Vitae – The Breath of Life and portrayed the mentally unstable composer Robert Schumann in Theater 3D’s production Dichterliebe which won the jury award at the MADE Festival in Fulda.

Matthew Laszlo von Pokorny (he/him) – François & Understudy for the role of William
Matthew was born in the United Kingdom and currently lives in Frankfurt am Main. His involvement in theatre began during his school years and he has since then been part of numerous theatre groups and productions, spanning from musicals to classical theatre. Upon moving to Germany over six years ago, he began vocal training in classical singing. Alongside singing concerts, he has recently appeared in various theatre/operetta productions at Megalomania Theatre in Frankfurt, including Brecht’s “Leben des Galilei” and Offenbach’s operetta “Ritter Blaubart”, as well as recently in a production of Gilbert & Sullivan’s operetta “Pirates of Penzance” at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. “As you like it” is his first production with Shakespeare Frankfurt, in which he is very much looking forward to performing once again in his mother tongue.

Marta Torres (she/her) - Audrey
Marta Torres is an actress, producer and movie director from the northeast part of Brazil, who has done her acting, clown, cinema and Shakespeare’s studies in Bahia, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, and participated as an assistant on physical theater workshops organized by Nipai Institute. She came to Germany to be part of this play “because of the experience of playing in a different atmosphere as the traditional theatre space, in a beautiful garden, with such a warm and clever group, in the amazing and cosmopolitan city Frankfurt. As Audrey says: “the Gods give us joy”!

Keith Wilson (he/him) - Jacques
Keith, a native Tennessean currently residing in Germany, has been successfully working as a singer, dancer, actor and choreographer. Keith has a diverse educational background with Diplomas in Musical (American Musical Dramatics Academy), Speech & Theatre (Austin Peay State Univ), Elementary Education (Austin Peay State Univ), and ESL Training Certification (Cambridge University, England). Keith has performed nationally and internationally in the German Productions of The Lion King, Starlight Express, La Cage Aux Folles, Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar and Dream Girls (in concert). European productions of the opera Porgy & Bess - Rome Opera, Theatro Bellini, Semeper Oper, Frankfurt Opera, Magnetic Opera Festival Italy, Dahala Opera Festival, Sweden and Japan Tour in Tokyo and Osaka. Choreography success: Song & Dance (Landestheater Eisenach Germany), Some Like It Hot (Anhaltisches Theater Dessau), La Cage Aux Folles (Ass. Choreo/Dance Captain), Ain’t Misbehavin (U.S.), Jesus Christ Superstar (U.S.), U.S. Youth Prod. Asst. Choreographer for Will Rogers Follies, Grease, Once on This Island, Little Shop of Horrors, and Guys and Dolls. Keith is a member of AEA and has performed in Equity Productions such as Ain’t Misbehavin, Big River, La Cage Aux Folles, Guys and Dolls, Five Guys Named Mo, Anything Goes, Sophisticated Ladies and starred as Tony Witcomb in Shear Madness at the Kennedy CTR. He currently performs the role of Jim at The English Theatre Frankfurt’s production of Huck Finn. As You Like It marks his second production with Shakespeare Frankfurt.

Jonathan Roth (he/him) – Duke Senior, Duke Frederik & Sir Oliver Martext
Jonathan has been active as a performer for over 15 years in various companies, including Zettels Theater, Theater 3D and Staatstheater Darmstadt. He has appeared in numerous German Shakespeare productions and played the title roles in “Pericles”, "Henry V" and "Hamlet”. With Theater 3D in Wiesbaden, he is mainly engaged in the production of documentary theatre plays. His first work as a playwright, "Dichterliebe", in which he also portrayed the poet icon Heinrich Heine, was awarded the jury prize at the MADE.Festival Hessen. He joined Shakespeare Frankfurt in 2021 for "King Lear" at the Botanical Garden, where he played the Fool. In “Antony & Cleopatra”, his second production with the company, he took on the role of the notorious Emperor Antony. Now he returns to the Garden for “As You Like It” as Duke Frederick, Duke Senior and Sir Oliver Martext.

Isabella Pizarro (she/her) - Orlando
Isa is 20 years old; this is her first Shakespearean role through which she has learned to love this complex yet melodic language. Isa has performed on stages such as the Frankfurt English Speaking Theatre (FEST), Amelia Earhart Playhouse in Wiesbaden as well as the Wiesbaden American High school’s Drama Department, where she was inducted into the International Thespian Society. A few of her other acting credits include Detainee, Tracks, Shrek the Musical, Elf the musical, and Little Women the musical, for which, she recently won a Toppers award for Best Female Supporting role in a musical, playing the role of Meg. In 2020 she has won an Award for an Outstanding Youth Performance in Sleeping Beauty Briar Rose as Erda, at the One Act Play Festival in Kaiserslautern. In 2021 Isa was Awarded First Place in a Monologue Competition for her Interpretation of Trudy from The search for Signs of intelligent life in the Universe. Since early childhood, Isa has had a passion for Theatre, Art, and Music. She hopes to make her way towards a Theatre School soon to make this a lifelong journey.

Christopher Morahan (he/him) – Oliver
This Christopher’s fifth production with Shakespeare Frankfurt, having previously performed in An Enemy of the People, Othello, Macbeth and King Lear. He has also worked as an actor, writer and director with the University College Dublin Drama Society and the ECB Theatre Ensemble. Christopher has been living in Frankfurt since 2017, having moved here from Dublin, Ireland. He is half Irish/ half Dutch.

Charles O'Donnell (he/him) – Le Beau
Charles is from Ireland and lived for several years in Paris before settling in Frankfurt in 2018. He has performed in several plays in Paris and Frankfurt including the role of Ernest in The Importance of Being Earnest and Pinter's short plays The Room and Celebration. This is his first time acting with Shakespeare Frankfurt.

Blanca Schüllermann (she/her) – Celia
Blanca is eighteen years old and rediscovered her love for acting in the midst of the preparations for her Abitur. She had felt drawn to the Arts from a young age, taking singing, piano and dancing lessons ever since she was six. Her interest in Shakespeare and acting was sparked at school, inspiring her to join an English Theater Workshop. “As you like it” will be her first production with Shakespeare Frankfurt.

Aisling Hayes (she/her) - Phoebe
Aisling is an Irish actor and musician currently based in Frankfurt. After moving to Germany in her early teens she received an acting scholarship from the Peter Ustinov foundation and appeared in various productions at the English Theatre and the Gallus Theater in Frankfurt. This is her first production with Shakespeare Frankfurt.

Varvara Pomoni (she/her) – Intimacy Director, Charles & William
Varvara comes from Athens, Greece. She works as an actor and as theatre pedagogue for The English Theatre Frankfurt. She has trained in various theatre institutions in Germany and in England on Meisner Technique, Theatre Improvisation, Shakespeare's Text and on Meyerhold's Biomechanics & Physical Theatre. This is her tenth production with Shakespeare Frankfurt having played the roles of Cleopatra (Antony & Cleopatra), Lady Macbeth (Macbeth) and Emilia (Othello). She also acted in Shakespeare Frankfurt's film Spiritus Vitae - The Breath of Life and she is the company’s resident intimacy director. Currently she performs in Huck Finn for The English Theatre Frankfurt and in BAAL for Megalomania Theater.

Tom Freischläger (he/him) – Composer & Music Director, Amiens
Tom trained at HfMDK Frankfurt and regularly appears in classical concerts as an oboist, orchestra conductor, presenter, and narrator. His interest in theatre was sparked during productions of the Chaincourt Theatre Company at Goethe University. As You Like It is his second production with Shakespeare Frankfurt as actor, composer, and music director.

PJ Escobio (he/him) – Director, Adam
PJ has directed for the English Theatre Frankfurt Girl with a Book, Huck Finn, and Shockheaded Peter (Covid cancelled). He is also a house director at the ITF, where he will direct their season premiere Sweat by Lynn Nottage for Shakespeare Frankfurt. As the Artistic Director of Shakespeare Frankfurt, he has directed the film Spiritus Vitae,The Breath of Life, and for the 2021-22 season directed Travelers, Fools and Thieves, and Antony and Cleopatra. Other plays he has directed for SF include, Trojan Women by Euripides, Shakespeare’s King Lear, Macbeth, Othello, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Twelfth Night, The Comedy of Errors (Covid cancelled) and An Enemy of the People by Henrik Ibsen. His production of The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh was at the Internationales Theater Frankfurt (ITF) in the Fall of 2019. From 2015-18 he was the Director in Residence at The LOFT, where he directed Shakespeare in the Garden: Hortus Inclusus, Shakespeare’s The Tempest, Grounded by George Brandt and was the co-creator of Where. For 10 years he was the Artistic Director of Shakespeare Anyone? founded in New York City in 2005, where he directed, produced and/or performed roles from all but 5 of Shakespeare’s plays. He was the Associate Artistic Director of WordBRIDGE Playwright’s Laboratory. He also cast and directed BFA playwriting thesis projects for NYU’s Tisch school of the arts. He has taught Acting, Scene Study, Stage Combat and Shakespeare courses at the collegiate level as well as high schools and private institutions for over 20 years. He holds a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Missouri-KC in Acting and Directing.
